What we will cover:
Self-Defense Mindset:
Taught by Traditional Martial Arts Academy (TMAA) black belt instructor Katie Villarreal. This section will cover tactics for avoiding violence and the mindset for surviving unavoidable conflict. You will also learn how our brains work against us during the pressure of fight-or-flight situations and how to hack your natural flinch reflexes to protect yourself when attacked.
On-The-Ground Basics:
Taught by Austin Jiu-Jitsu instructor John Martinich, this section will cover the fundamentals of defending yourself when on the ground. Violent confrontation often ends on the ground. What would you do if you if an attacker knocked you down? Learn to turn this vulnerability into an advantage.
Striking Basics:
Taught by TMAA founder and head instructor James Espy. This section will cover the fundamentals of defending yourself from someone trying to hit you as well as how to effectively strike back!
